Despite a large amount of time spent, the educational and recreational merits of such devices cannot be neglected. As most parents are fully occupied and exhausted under job responsibilities, leisure time has been less interactive between parents and children. Television or computer hours, therefore, address such concern if properly guided. Offered with educational programs and games, children actually gain a deeper insight of the world and satisfy their curiosity. This, however, is not to say that parental company could be replaced. Indeed, such activities partly compensate for what parents may not sufficiently provide to children and reduce the potential risk of children being ignored or left behind when parents are not fully engaged.
