First-ever Sex Education Workshop in FDIS
FDIS首次舉辦性教育講座
Feeling the need to provide timely and balanced guidance to our students with regards to sex, FDIS conducted its first-ever sex education workshop for the Middle School students, Grades 6 to 8. In this day and age when flow of information is faster and more easily accessible than ever before, and when society’s views on sexual mores are constantly changing, the school felt it was imperative that our students should be given appropriate guidance and direction in learning to cope with the many changes—physical, emotional, and social—that accompany the important period of transition that is puberty and adolescence.
復旦附中國際部認為，及時、有效地為學生提供性教育是十分重要的，因此我們為6至8年級的初中生舉辦了第一次性教育講座。在這個信息傳播快捷、社會對性的看法不斷變化的時代，在學生的過渡時期，即青春期，給予學生適當的指導，以適應身體、情感和社會的許多變化是很必要的。
The workshop took place on Friday, March 8th, conducted by a professional lecturer, Ms. Sarah Bilodeau, a drama-therapist from the ELG organization. (In order to provide age-appropriate guidance and counsels for our students, a separate sex education workshop will be held for our high school students on Friday, March 15th.)
講座于3月8日星期五舉行，主講人是ELG組織的治療師Sarah Bilodeau女士。為了給高中提供符合他們年齡段的性教育指導，我們將于3月15日星期五為高中生另外舉辦一場性教育講座。
The workshop for the middle school students focused on preparing them for the changes of puberty, and also dealt with such related topics as sexuality and relationships, personal rights and responsibilities, risks and harmful behaviors in a relationship, and awareness about portrayals of sex in the media. The workshop was conducted with lectures and interactive activities, including small- and large-group discussions. The 90-minute workshop went by very quickly, with all the students engaged in the lecture and presentation in rapt attention.
初中生的性教育講座旨在為他們的青春期變化做準備，講座內容還涉及性別和關系、個人權利和責任、關系中的風險和有害行為以及媒體對性描寫的認識等相關主題。講座分為演講和互動（包括小組討論）。90分鐘的講座轉眼就結束了，所有的學生都全神貫注地聆聽講座。
Judging from the responses of the students,it was apparent that the workshop proved to be helpful to them and something that was definitely necessary. We hope to have more workshops in the future covering more age-appropriate topics, thereby providing our students with the much needed direction and guidance in the area of sex education, and equipping them better for the many changes that they will be undergoing.
從學生的回應來看，這場講座顯然讓他們受益匪淺。我們希望將來還有適合學生這一特殊年齡段的其他講座，從而為學生提供有關性教育的指導，為他們將要經歷的諸多變化做好準備。
