SHSID Students Won the Championship in USAD Finals

From Apr. 23rd to Apr. 28th 2019, 9 SHSID students with Ms He Yiwei went to Bloomington in the U.S. for the USAD Finals and won the championship in this competition.

USAD stands for United States Academic Decathlon, which is one of the supreme academic competition platforms in the US. Its vision is to provide all students the opportunity to excel academically through team competition. Students who take part in this competition need to learn and compete in 10 different subjects, including math, economics, science, social science, art, music, literature, essay, speech and interview.

This is the fourth time that SHSID students participating in this competition and they achieved the best scores this time. The team won 48 medals in total, including 22 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 16 bronze medals. The number of medals has doubled compared to the last year. The team’s overall score ranked the 1st place in Division II and the 4th place among all the US and international teams. Moreover, students won Overall Individual Awards for 3 gold medals and 2 silver medals.They are Tianyu Pei from 10(5),Calvin Pan from 9(10)and Brandon Wu from 9（10）; Kaiqing Liang from 10（10）and Mason Wang from 10（1）.

Congratulations to these students! For them, taking part in USAD competition is not only an unforgettable experience, but also a life journey harvesting growth and improvements.

上中國際部學生在美國學術十項全能總決賽中勇奪冠軍

2019年4月23日至28日，上中國際部共9名學生在何藝瑋老師的帶領下，赴美國明尼蘇達州布盧明頓參加美國學術十項全能總決賽，勇奪冠軍。

美國學術十項全能（USAD）是美國首屈一指的高中生綜合學術學術活動平臺，其宗旨是通過團隊學術活動的形式讓不同級別的學生在學術方面超越自我。該比賽從數學、經濟、科學、社會科學、藝術、音樂、文學、寫作、演講和面試10個領域對學生進行考核。

此次為我校高中部學生第四次參賽，共收獲48枚獎牌，22金10銀16銅，獲得的獎牌數為去年的兩倍。團隊總分位列分組第一名，在所有美國以及國際隊伍中總分位列第四名。此外，分組內個人總分排名情況，10(5)裴天宇、9(10)潘曉非,以及9（10）吳凱力分別獲得金牌，10（10）梁凱晴、10（1）王梅森分別獲得銀牌。這是我校參賽以來的取得的最好成績。

恭喜上中國際部的學生在國際賽事中再創佳績，對他們而言，參加USAD不僅僅是一段難忘的比賽經歷，更是一段收獲成長與蛻變的人生旅程。
