數(shù)學(xué)課程屬于英國(guó)GCSE數(shù)學(xué)的進(jìn)階課程。不同考試局設(shè)置課程的理念較為相似,均考察純數(shù)學(xué)、力學(xué)和統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)。數(shù)學(xué)課程一般分為兩年學(xué)習(xí),第一年學(xué)習(xí)純數(shù)學(xué)和統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué),第二年學(xué)習(xí)純數(shù)學(xué)和力學(xué)。如學(xué)生計(jì)劃未來(lái)學(xué)習(xí)高等數(shù)學(xué)課程,則數(shù)學(xué)課程壓縮在一年內(nèi)完成。各大考試局對(duì)于A*的定義不完全一致,但通常總分在90%以上為A*。英國(guó)名校的理工科、金融類、經(jīng)濟(jì)類、心理學(xué)類等專業(yè)往往對(duì)申請(qǐng)者數(shù)學(xué)有A*的要求。
