秋風已至，書卷似故人。閱讀，是和一些高貴靈魂的對話。那些承載的故事，鐫刻的字跡不時讓我們重溫與自由相伴，不離不棄的日子。九月是美加的“閱讀月”，學部舉辦了形式多樣的主題活動，如中文演講比賽、英文戲劇表演、英文辯論比賽等，用書香浸潤學子的思想。
Early autumn wind has come, the scrolls are like the old. Reading is a conversation with some noble soul. From time to time, the stories we carry and the words we write remind us of the days we shared with freedom. September is the "Reading Month" of NB, and the department held various thematic activities, such as Chinese Speech Contest, English Drama Performance and English Debate Contest, etc.

01離離故土情，拳拳赤子心
Leaving the native place, we are all pure hearts.
在屏氣凝神的注視中，十一年級五位演講者逐一走上舞臺，暢談《臺北人》的閱讀感悟。從遠方回望故鄉，有的人用婆娑的淚眼瞥見了青磚白瓦、裊裊炊煙。從故鄉望向遠方，有的人用慷慨的陳詞控訴分裂勢力的暴行，表達中國青年對祖國的摯愛。
Watching with bated breath, the five speakers of grade 11 came to the stage one by one to talk about the reading comprehension of Taipei people. Looking back home from afar, some people with whirling tearful eyes glimpsed the blue brick and white tile, and the curl smoke. Looking far away from home, some people used generous statements to complain about the atrocities of the separatist forces and express the love of Chinese youth for the motherland.
02螳螂捕蟬，黃雀在后
The wolf has a winning game when the shepherds quarrel.
人人都是黃雀，人人也都是螳螂。然而那個站在黃雀身后的，是生活。《黃雀記》中充滿了罪與罰，絕望和希望。青春年少的我們該樹立怎樣的人生觀、價值觀才能更好地面對生活？“只要希望之燈依然亮著,哪怕它再微弱,也要堅持啟航。”這是十年級學生鏗鏘有力的回答。
Every man is a sparrow, and a mantis. But it is life that stands behind the yellow sparrow. The book of the Yellow Sparrow is full of crime and punishment, despair and hope. As teenagers, we should establish what kind of outlook on life, values in order to better face life? "As long as the light of hope remains on, however faint, keep sailing." This is the sonorous strong answers from G10 students.
03功名富貴，總把流光誤
Fame, wealth, always mislead the flow of light.
有人說，富貴能腐蝕一切。但總有些地方屹立不倒，它就是我們心靈的桃花源。八九年級學子們在《邊城》的淳樸人情中，在《儒林外史》的名利追逐里，撥開世俗的面紗，探討生活的真諦。
Some people say that wealth corrupts everything. But there is always some place standing, it is the land of our hearts. In the simplicity of the border town and the pursuit of fame and wealth in the scholars, the G8&G9 students pushed aside the veil of common customs and explored the true meaning of life.

我喜歡每個人口中吐出的家鄉話，我愛街頭巷尾的市井氣，人情味，同時，我依然感謝離開，離開使我們將頭探向世界，離開成就了我們。

English Drama Performance
沒有夢想的人生是無趣的。“尋夢，撐一支長篙向青草更青處漫溯。滿載一船星輝，在星輝斑斕里放歌。”難道不是最詩意的生活嗎？九年級學生裝扮成了《牧羊少年奇幻之旅》中的尋夢男孩，追夢之旅中，演員們加入了許多幽默元素，經典之余而又分外地接地氣。有人微笑著獲獎，有人歡笑著鼓掌，場內氣氛格外熱烈。
Life without dreams is boring. ‘To seek a dream just to pole a boat upstream to where the green grass is more verdant. Or has the boat fully loaded with starlight and sing aloud in the splendor of starlight.’Is it not the most poetic life? G9 students dressed up as the dream-seeking boys in The Alvin's Fantasy Journey, and the actors added a lot of humor to their dream-chasing journey. Some people carried off a prize with smiling on face, and some people laughed and applauded. The atmosphere inside is particularly warm.

English Debate Contest
惠特曼說，“一個人在神志最清明的時候，往往有一種思想，像星辰那樣恒久不滅”。十年級的學生在《動物莊園》思想自由主題的引領下展開辯論。唇槍舌劍間，辯手們依然不失風度，始終面帶微笑。良好的風范、出色的口語表達、敏捷的思維令場下觀眾為之折服，掌聲不斷。
Whitman says ‘A man in his most lucid moments often has a thought that lasts as long as the stars.’ G10 students debated with the free-thinking theme of animal farm. The debaters kept their poise and kept smiling. Good demeanor, excellent oral expression and quick thinking make the audience impressed and applauded.
閱讀月活動圓滿落下帷幕，而心中對書的依戀將會永遠滋養著我們的靈魂。祝愿學子在書中找到寄托，在逐夢的路上嗅到青春與書卷共同激揚的芬芳！
