Over 200 students from more than 20 different international and local schools participated in the 2018 Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO) competition. The AIMO, sponsored by the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT), is a very challenging event where students need to solve 10 questions in four hours without using calculators testing the students' mathematical abilities. . Students with excellent scores in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) are selected to participate in the AIMO. After the excellent results achieved in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), the students of Grades 3-8 from our school made remarkable achievements in the AIMO:

4 students won the first prize (High Distinction)

6 students won the second prize (Distinction)

7 students won the third prize (Credit)

In addition to proving themselves in a contest, students compete and learn from each other with the expectation that students will achieve better results and gain confidence in the following math competitions.

在2018年度澳大利亞（中級）數學奧林匹克學術活動(AIMO)中，中國賽區共有來自全國20多所國際學校和重點中學的200多名同學參賽。澳大利亞（中級）數學奧林匹克學術活動 (AIMO) 由澳大利亞數學聯合會 (AMT) 主辦，是一項極具挑戰性的賽事。比賽具有相當難度，學生需要在四小時內解決 10 道題目，全程不能使用計算器，是對學生的數學能力的一項考驗。該賽事與澳大利亞數學學術活動（AMC）初中年級組比賽相比較，是一個晉級性質的賽事。通常在澳大利亞數學學術活動（AMC）初中組中成績優異的同學才會選拔參加澳大利亞（中級）數學奧賽 (AIMO)。

我校國際部3-8年級同學繼在澳大利亞數學學術活動（AMC）中取得優異成績后，在本屆比賽澳大利亞（中級）數學奧林匹克學術活動 (AIMO)中，也取得了十分驕人的成績。共4位同學獲得一等獎（High Distinction）;共6位同學獲得二等獎（Distinction）；共7位同學獲得三等獎（Credit）。

同學們在數學領域，深刻切磋，共同學習；在學術活動中，磨礪自己，證明自己，相信在今后的數學學術活動中同學們能取得更加出色的成績。
