當我們在談論“中西融合”的時候,我們究竟在談論什么?國際融合課程中又有哪些“國際范兒”?如何以家庭教育助力孩子更好地學習和成長?帶著這些問題,國際融合課程的爸爸媽媽走進協和校園,參加了一堂堂生動精彩的家長工作坊活動。
Learning about International Mindedness
and Learner Profile

On Thursday 26 September SUIS was proud to host the first parent session of the school year. The session explored the Learner Profile and International mindedness. It was great to see our parents out for this session, sharing, collaborating and exploring different aspects of the philosophy of the programme.
9月26日,國際融合課程順利舉行了本學年的首次家長工作坊活動,大家圍繞著國際文憑學習者目標以及國際情懷一同進行了探討。我們很高興看到家長們在活動中共同分享、合作及探討小學課程項目理念的各個不同方面,同時也開啟了本學期一系列家長工作坊的華彩篇章。




Chinese as First Language
Parent Session

Chinese as First Language (CFL) parent session introduced the EMW Chinese curriculum within our primary school through focusing on the different Chinese language skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing in different grade levels and integration with UOI.
中文母語課程工作坊向家長們介紹了小學中文課程的設置情況,內容圍繞各年段中文聽說讀寫的學習重點以及與探究單元的融合展開。
EMW Chinese Curriculum
國際融合中文課程
Chinese curriculum integrates UOI within reading, writing and also in Chinese characters and Chinese culture inquiry to improve the comprehensive application and inquiry abilities, and furthermore, deepen the student’s cultural understanding.
中文課程從閱讀、寫作、漢字探究以及中國文化探究等多方面與單元探究主題相融合,提升孩子對知識的綜合運用能力和探究思維能力,加深孩子對中國傳統文化的理解。


The parent session highlighted our Chinese reading project to parents. The Chinese reading project is underpinned by the Chinese Curriculum standards for each grade and is then combined with the learning theme of the unit of inquiry. The project is then implemented through ‘reading at school’ and ‘reading at home’.
該工作坊還向家長們重點介紹了中文閱讀活動。該活動根據語文的課程標準和學生的年齡段差異,結合探究單元主題,以校內主題閱讀和校外家庭閱讀的形式展開。
Readingat School
校內主題閱讀
‘Reading at school’ is divided into two topics: ‘Daily Reading’ and ‘Reading a Book Together’. Each grade chooses a different theme of ‘Daily Reading’, selects some nursery rhymes, poems for grade level, and then uses five minutes at the beginning of the Chinese class to read. ‘Daily Reading’ lets the children experience the rhythmic beauty and artistic beauty of Chinese.
校內主題閱讀分為“每日誦讀”和“同讀一本書”兩個主題。各年段根據學生年齡特點,確定“每日誦讀”主題,選取部分童謠、詩歌,利用中文課前五分鐘,進行統一誦讀,讓孩子們在誦讀中體會中華文字的韻律美和意境美。
Reading a Book Together
同讀一本書
‘Reading a Book Together’ is implemented from grade 3 to grade 5. Each grade chooses a UOI related or grade level-based literature book to read at school. The ‘Reading a Book Together’ aims to build up children's Chinese reading habits, practice reading skills and improve their reading thinking abilities.
“同讀一本書”主題活動在中高段展開,它以年級為單位,選取與探究主題相關或與學生年齡層相符的兒童文學名著進行閱讀。該閱讀活動旨在培養孩子的閱讀習慣,訓練孩子的閱讀技巧,發展孩子的閱讀思維。

After listening to the introduction of the Chinese curriculum, the parents had an in-depth discussion on reading with children and discussed ways to help children learn Chinese more effectively through a Q & A.
在聆聽了中文課程介紹后,家長們就親子閱讀進行了深入的討論,并通過答疑,探討了更有效地幫助孩子進行中文學習的途徑。
Mathematics Curriculum in PYP
Parent Session

On Thursday afternoon, October 25th, EMW Stream held a parent session on Mathematics in PYP. In that workshop, the Mathematics coordinator Jennifer LIU used real teaching examples to explain our Mathematics curriculum settings, diversified teaching methods and multi-way learning feedback.
10月25日下午,國際融合課程舉行了主題為“小學項目中的數學”的家長工作坊活動。在工作坊中,數學課程總協調員劉婕老師用很多生動的課堂實例向家長詳細解釋了數學融合課程的設置,多元化的授課方式和多途徑的學習反饋。


Our Mathematics curriculum encourages students to explore, discover and going deeper into Mathematical principles and formulas. We added the rigorous logic and solid practice of Chinese mathematics to enhance our curriculum. Taking into consideration the different learning styles of students, multiple intelligence development is used to stimulate the students learning interest in mathematics, truly achieved “East meets West, Unity in diversity".
我們的數學課程鼓勵學生用探究的思維去發現數學背后的奧秘,發現公式背后的道理,并將中國數學嚴謹的邏輯和扎實的演練融合到課程設置中去,根據學生不同的學習風格,以多元智能發展為途徑去激發學生學習數學的興趣,真正做到“在中西碰撞中,兼容并包,取其所長”。

After the workshop, parents expressed their recognition and appreciation of the Mathematics curriculum, and gave "two stars and one wish" feedback to the content of our workshop.
講座過后,家長紛紛表示出對課程的認同和欣賞,并對我們講座的內容給出了“兩星一愿”的反饋。
Parents Phonics Workshop

On October 18th, EMW Stream parents attended the parents’ phonics workshop led by Ms Amme and Ms Kirsty. Parents learnt about how phonics is taught in our school and also how to help their own children to use phonics for reading at home. During this interactive workshop, parents practiced saying the phonics purely and helped each other to phonetically decode words. We had a lot of positive feedback from our parents who commented on the fun methods of teaching that they had learned and how their understanding of the importance of phonics and reading had deepened.
10月18日,國際融合課程的家長還受邀參加了“自然拼讀家長工作坊”。本次工作坊由Amme老師與Kristy老師共同主持,希望令家長們在了解自然拼讀法教學方式的同時,掌握在家中幫助孩子使用自然拼讀法進行閱讀的要領。在工作坊的互動環節中,家長們也練習了純粹使用“自然拼讀法”拼讀單詞,并協助彼此按照發音來拆解詞匯。我們在講座后收到了不少家長的積極反饋,他們都對有趣的“自然拼讀法”津津樂道,并深刻意識到它對提升孩子們英語閱讀能力的重要作用。
These Parent Sessions were good home-school interaction, which enhanced parent understanding of the EMW curriculum and facilitated a sharing opportunity for parents. We sincerely hope moreandmore parents will participate in this kind of community learning activity in our future sessions!



繽紛多彩的家長工作坊,為家校互動架起一座座溝通的橋梁,不僅增進了家長對學校課程的了解,也促進了家長之間的信息交流與經驗分享。
本學期的家長工作坊活動已告一段落,但未能及時報名的家長也切勿著急。在下學期,更多不容錯過的家長工作坊將相繼落地開花。我們衷心期待越來越多的家長能參與到工作坊中來,家校攜手,共同見證孩子的成長!
