SHSID 25th AnniversaryOn December 21st, 2018, the SHSID 25th Anniversary Celebration was held in the Shanghai High School Auditorium; students and teachers gathered together to witness this exciting moment. Former Principal of Shanghai High School and Founder of Shanghai High School International Division, Mr. Tang Shengchang; Former Chief Director of International Division, Ms. Li Ying; Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission International Exchange Department, Ms. Lu Lili; Deputy Director of Shanghai Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, Mr. Feng Donghui; Principal of Shanghai High School, Mr. Feng Zhigang; Other Guests from Shanghai organizations which support the school, principals and directors from other international schools, parents, alumni, and teachers from Shanghai High school International Division participated in this celebration.

The celebration began with the wind ensemble and immediately following, the SHSID 25TH Anniversary Video Aspire Beyond allowed us to review the development of the school over the past 25 years; this enlightening video helps us to appreciate the rich and colorful school life of our students. Principal Feng made a speech first. He mentioned Mr. Tang Shengchang, who was Principal of Shanghai High School then, applied his unique perspective of an educator and prospective judgement of Shanghai’s development to initiate the proposal of “Shanghai High School International Division”. He said “The orientation of running a school must be given priority, that is respecting the International standards, sticking to the Chinese characteristics, and claiming the sovereignty of education. In this case, we can contribute to the secondary International education as well as set up a role model of building up a self-managed international school by Chinese people. With that, SHSID could also dedicate itself to Shanghai’s establishment of global scientific and innovative center with SHS wisdom and SHS power. Let’s make our joint effort together to make SHSID a world leading research and innovative school!”

Then, alumni from all over the world sent their celebration videos, expressing their gratitude and best wishes to their alma mater. Student representative Alex Shi (10th grade) and parent representative Ms. Liu Liu shared their own experiences and feelings about SHSID from different perspectives. Just like Ms. Liu Liu said: “This is not only a place where students can show their talents, but it also builds a communication bridge between parents and their children resulting in loving bond.”

After enjoying a folk dance performance, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission International Exchange Department, Ms. Lu Lili showed her high expectations for the school’s development and expressed their continuous support to SHSID: ‘It constitutes a Chinese form integrated international education that references the strengths of both local and global practices, which has been recognized worldwide and provides a pathway for intercultural exchange. We believe that SHSID will continuously assist in building up an educational environment that matches Shanghai’s goal of creating an internationally influential modern metropolis, and further the construction of the international education that matches Shanghai’s aims as a Global Science and Technology Innovation Center, and plays a leading role in implementing self-managed International education on the path of China’s exploration of seeking for a strong education. “

With the children’s choir performance, the celebration moved into the second p: the SHSID 25th Anniversary Celebration show. At the same time, the principals from SHSID and other international schools attended the Principal’s seminar with the director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission International Exchange Department.

25th Anniversary

Students from primary, middle, and high school, with their exhilarated performances, pushed the ceremony to great levels of excitement again.

In parallel sessions at the primary and middle school, as well as on the Zhang Jiang campus, students also cheered and celebrated the birthday of SHSID through different activities such as: sharing cakes, celebration shows and carnivals, and award ceremonies.

Today school was a sea of joy, alumni from different countries gathered together and reminisced about their past studying at SHSID.

Under the cover of Chinese reform and opening-up, SHSID has risen as a leading globally-recognized international school that embodies the essence of both Chinese and Western culture. From the students, to the teachers, to the parents, to the alumni, you all make SHSID what it is today. Thank you for your continued support. 2018年12月21日上午，上海中學國際部成立25周年慶典在上海中學大禮堂舉行。上海中學國際部師生們歡聚在一起、通過現場觀看或在線直播的方式，共同見證這個激動人心的時刻。上海中學原校長、上海中學國際部創始人唐盛昌先生、上海中學國際部原主管李英女士、上海市教委國際交流處蘆琍琍副處長、上海外國專家局馮東輝副處長、上海中學校長馮志剛，上海中學黨委書記王輝，上海中學黨委副書記張澤紅，上海中學副校長徐岳燦，上海中學國際部高中校長馬峰，上海中學國際部初小校長劉煉以及來自上海市各支持單位的領導與來賓、上海市開辦國際部的學校領導，上海中學國際部的PTSA代表、校友代表，教師代表出席了此次慶典。

典禮在學生管樂團的演奏聲中，拉開序幕。緊隨其后的國際部25周年慶視頻《跨越》，和大家一起回顧了25年來學校從無到有、從小到大、從大到強的發展歷程，讓大家感受到上海中學國際部育人的良好氛圍與莘莘學子們豐富多彩的校園生活。馮校長在以《致敬經典、憧憬未來》為題的慶典致辭中指出，時任上海中學校長唐盛昌先生以教育家特有的眼光和對上海發展的前瞻性判斷，創造性地提出創辦“上海中學國際部”并引領了國際部的發展與壯大，創造了諸多經典。經過全體教職工的共同努力，上海中學國際部如今得到了國內、國外同行的廣泛認可。今后國際部的發展，仍舊要把“尊重國際標準、堅守中國特色、把握教育主權”的辦學定位貫穿始終，在基礎教育國際化方面做出應有的貢獻，為中國人自主管理的國際學校課程體系建設提供可資參考的卓越范本，為上海科創中心建設貢獻“上中智慧”與“上中力量”。

隨后來自世界各國校友的祝福視頻，傳遞了數屆上中國際部畢業生們對母校的感恩和祝福。學生代表石慕禹同學、以及家長代表六六女士，分別從各自的角度，和大家分享了他們對上中國際部的喜愛與感受。正如六六女士所說的：“學校通過多樣平臺的創設，搭建起了孩子與家長、學校多元溝通的橋梁，讓彼此發現愛，理解愛，讓孩子得到更好的發展。”

在欣賞了民族舞表演之后，上海市教委國際交流處蘆琍琍副處長做了講話，指出上海中學國際部在辦學過程中，既尊重與引入國際標準，又注重中國教育文化優勢的弘揚，提供了一種“尊重國際標準、堅守中國特色”的高水平國際教育良好范例，在管理理念、教學體系、服務質量等方面，成為了上海乃至全國國際教育的一個標桿，并表示上海市教委將一如既往地支持學校的發展，使上海中學國際部能夠繼續助力上海現代化國際大都市建設，助力上海教育改革和發展，在探索我國教育從大走強的過程中發揮自主管理國際教育的品牌力量，成為上海乃至中國國際教育的一張亮麗名片。

慶典儀式在童聲合唱中進入了第二環節文藝匯演。而此時參加慶典的上海市辦國際部的學校領導移步到上海中學逸夫樓二樓會議室參加“上海中學國際部成立25周年‘國際教育發展’校長研討會，開辦國際部的上海中學、復旦附中、華師大二附中、上海實驗學校、上海外國語大學附屬中學、宋慶齡學校、宋慶齡幼兒園等學校的校領導聚在一起，與上海市教委國際交流處領導一起交流上海市國際教育的發展智慧與發展方向。

在文藝匯演中，來自國際部小學、初中、高中的學生們，滿懷對學校的祝福之心，表演了他們精彩紛呈的節目，把典禮推向一個又一個高潮。在大禮堂文藝匯演的同時，國際部初小各學段、張江校區也在各自的分會場里，通過分享蛋糕、慶祝表演、歡樂嘉年華、頒獎儀式，和隨后高中學生的無人機拍攝、校友分享活動相映成趣，共慶學校的生日。

今日的上中校園，成了歡樂的海洋。來自世界各國的百余名校友，也再次團聚在母校，暢敘同窗、母校情誼。上海中學國際部乘中國改革開放之東風，汲取中西文化之精華，僅僅用了25年的時間，就成為國際一流、國內領先的國際學校。培育了累計來自60多個國家與地區的上萬名具有國際視野、中國情結的莘莘學子，走向世界。正如上海中學馮志剛校長在致辭中所說的那樣：國際部的發展，需要感謝所有為國際部發展付出辛勤勞動的各級主管部門、支持單位、友好學校以及全體老師、家長、校友。是大家共同的努力，成就了今天的上海中學國際部。
