Pudong Campus

On the afternoon of December 27th, two groups of student representatives of SHSID Pudong division visited Shanghai Healing Home that located in the countryside of Pudong and Shanghai Zhanyi Children Develop Intelligence Center with accompany of teachers and parents. This visit was not only for the donation ceremony, but also for the enrichment of student’s experience and cognition. This was a kind of test for the students, as well. Shanghai Healing Home (SHH) is a non-profit foster home that provides pre and post-surgical care to abandoned Chinese orphan babies born with surgically correctable deformities. The mission for the students of SHSID was to play with the kids while showing enough respect, which was not an easy test for them. Shanghai Zhanyi Children Develop Intelligence Center is a non-governmental organization providing rehabilitation services for children with developmental disabilities, such as ASD.

At 1:30 p.m., the school bus arrived at the Shanghai Healing Home on time. In order to ensure that the children’s afternoon nap would not be disturbed, students, parents, and teachers stepped into the house quietly. After listening to some brief introduction, they went upstairs to interact with the kids there. With parents and teachers’ reminding of showing respect and their encouragement, the students surprisingly showed a lot of empathy and kindness, sat around the kids and shared toys with them. The parents also showed their care and kindness by playing with the kids and reading storybooks with them. The room was filled with harmony and love. Finally, saying goodbye to the adorable kids, the group of SHSID proceeded the donation ceremony downstairs. The visiting in Zhanyi Children Develop Intelligence Center went on smoothly, as well. After arriving at the destination, the students were presented a touching video about ASD. Then, the students had a tour in the organization, after which the students participated in the donation ceremony with parents and teachers.

We are glad to see that not only did the campus event enriched student’s extracurricular experience, but also it made some contribute for improving the life of these lovely children. More importantly, it was students and parents’ effort in the charity fair that eventually realized this benefaction. The charity of 39,737 RMB collected from charity fair were donated to the two organizations.

12月27日下午，SHSID浦東校區(qū)的學(xué)生代表們?cè)诶蠋熍c家長(zhǎng)們的帶領(lǐng)下，一起前往了位于浦東郊野的上海新生命之家以及普陀區(qū)展翼兒童培智服務(wù)中心。這次的探訪不僅是一場(chǎng)攜善款的捐助活動(dòng)，更是一次對(duì)于學(xué)生們認(rèn)知的拓展與考驗(yàn)。上海新生命之家是一家寄養(yǎng)家庭形式的非盈利機(jī)構(gòu)，致力于為需要進(jìn)行手術(shù)矯正畸形的棄嬰提供術(shù)前及術(shù)后看護(hù)。如何在展現(xiàn)出足夠尊重的情況下和孩子們一起玩耍、給予孩子們陪伴，這次的探訪對(duì)于SHSID的學(xué)生們而言也是一場(chǎng)考驗(yàn)。展翼兒童培智服務(wù)中心是一所為發(fā)展障礙兒童提供康復(fù)服務(wù)的民辦非營(yíng)利性社會(huì)福利機(jī)構(gòu)，主要為2-16周歲的自閉癥、智力障礙等兒童提供康復(fù)訓(xùn)練和生活指導(dǎo)服務(wù)。這次的探訪會(huì)為學(xué)生們帶來(lái)怎么樣的體驗(yàn)?zāi)兀?/p>

下午1點(diǎn)30分，校車準(zhǔn)時(shí)到達(dá)了上海新生命之家，為了不打擾正在午睡的孩子們，大家邁著輕輕的腳步進(jìn)了屋子。在聽(tīng)完工作人員簡(jiǎn)要的介紹之后，家長(zhǎng)、學(xué)生們走上了二樓與孩子們進(jìn)行了一系列的互動(dòng)。在家長(zhǎng)們和老師們的引導(dǎo)和鼓勵(lì)下，學(xué)生們展現(xiàn)出了讓人眼前一亮的成熟，圍著新生命之家的孩子，陪他們玩起了玩具。家長(zhǎng)們也紛紛與孩子們玩耍起來(lái)，給孩子們講故事，給予孩子們陪伴和關(guān)愛(ài)。 整個(gè)房間充滿了溫暖的氣息。最后，愛(ài)心大使們告別了依依不舍的孩子們，在樓下進(jìn)行了捐贈(zèng)儀式。展翼兒童培智服務(wù)中心的探訪也順利地進(jìn)行著，在大家到達(dá)了目的地之后，工作人員帶著學(xué)生們觀看了關(guān)于自閉癥的視頻。在參觀了機(jī)構(gòu)之后，學(xué)生們?cè)诩议L(zhǎng)、老師的帶領(lǐng)下在大廳進(jìn)行了捐贈(zèng)儀式。

我們高興地看到學(xué)校的活動(dòng)在豐富學(xué)生課余經(jīng)歷的同時(shí)，還能為這些可愛(ài)的孩子們作出一份貢獻(xiàn)。更關(guān)鍵的是，是學(xué)生們與家長(zhǎng)們?cè)诹x賣會(huì)上的努力讓這一件善事得以實(shí)現(xiàn)。在義賣會(huì)中籌集到的39,737RMB的全部善款在此次活動(dòng)中被捐給了這兩個(gè)機(jī)構(gòu)。
