博士身陷戰(zhàn)區(qū)交不了論文， 硬核導(dǎo)師派雇傭兵將其救回

近日，英國《電訊報(bào)》報(bào)道了一則2014年的故事，伊拉克化學(xué)博士身陷IS占領(lǐng)區(qū)，影響科研項(xiàng)目，導(dǎo)師派雇傭兵將其救出。

一名瑞典隆德大學(xué)的化學(xué)教授派遣了一隊(duì)精英雇傭軍進(jìn)入IS占領(lǐng)區(qū)，救出了她的博士學(xué)士及其家人。

學(xué)生告訴隆德大學(xué)校刊記者“我發(fā)短信就是想告訴自己的導(dǎo)師一聲，現(xiàn)在發(fā)生了什么。也沒想著一個(gè)分析化學(xué)系導(dǎo)師能夠?yàn)槲覀冏鍪裁础！?/p>

“I had no hope then at all,” Jumaah told Lund’s University Magazine LUM. “I was desperate. I just wanted to tell my supervisor what was happening. I had no idea that a professor would be able to do anything for us.”

但是，手機(jī)另一側(cè)的教授顯然是完全不同的狀態(tài)。幾聲槍響就半途而廢了？

《電訊報(bào)》報(bào)道稱，特納教授絕不允許自己的學(xué)生研究項(xiàng)目有始無終，功虧一簣。

But Turner was in no mind to let Jumaah’s research project go unfinished.

特納教授在接受采訪時(shí)說，“事發(fā)的情況，我完全無法接受！” 她說，“我特別生氣。IS就這樣闖入了我們的世界，危及到了我的博士生還進(jìn)一步影響學(xué)術(shù)研究。”

特納教授跟自己的上司們進(jìn)行了溝通，看看能做點(diǎn)什么。

She contacted her superiors to find out if anything could be done.

特納教授說，我的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)給我開了綠燈，告訴我“想做什么就去做”。

“It was a question of basic humanity. My boss gave me the green light and said ‘just do it’,” she said.

特納教授首先聯(lián)系了學(xué)校安全總監(jiān)古斯塔夫森。

She contacted the university’s then security chief Per Gustafson.

特納教授介紹到，古斯塔夫森也感覺到自己像是有種等待已久的使命去拯救學(xué)生。

“It was almost as if he’d been waiting for this kind of mission,” she said.

經(jīng)過幾天緊鑼密鼓地安排部署，古斯塔夫森聯(lián)系了一家安保公司，隨后制定了一個(gè)營救作戰(zhàn)計(jì)劃。幾天后，兩輛SUV載著四名全副武裝的雇傭兵，呼嘯沖進(jìn)Jumaah藏身的區(qū)域。

Over a few days of intense activity, Gustafson hired a security company which then arranged a rescue operation. Just a few days later two Toyota Land Cruisers bearing four heavily-armed mercenaries roared into the area where Jumaah was hiding.

They then drove him him away to Erbil airport together with his wife and two small children.

據(jù)《福克斯新聞》報(bào)道，當(dāng)時(shí)Jumaah和他的家人處境尤為危險(xiǎn)，因?yàn)樗麄兪茄牌澋先恕Ｑ牌澋先耸艿絀S的野蠻對(duì)待，IS經(jīng)常折磨或殺害雅茲迪男子，并將雅茲迪婦女賣去當(dāng)性奴隸。

Jumaah and his family were particularly in danger because they are part of the Yazidi ethnoreligious group that was subject to brutal treatment by ISIS, who often tortured or murdered the men and sold women into sex slavery.

Jumaah had flown in from Sweden after his wife had rung him to say that ISIL warriors had entered the neighbouring village.

“My wife was in a total panic, everyone was shocked at how Islamic State was behaving. I took the first plane there to be with them. What sort of life would I have had if anything had happened to them when I wasn’t there?” he said.

還好，Jumaah在家鄉(xiāng)的親人全都幸運(yùn)地活了下來。

Luckily the rest of the family all survived Isil?occupation.

他本人也已經(jīng)順利完成了自己的博士論文，現(xiàn)在在瑞典馬爾默一家醫(yī)藥公司工作。這家人也幾乎已經(jīng)償還完了由隆德大學(xué)支付的救援費(fèi)用

He successfully completed his Ph.D. and works at a pharmaceutical company in Malm?. The family also almost paid off the university for the mercenaries they hired.
