3月11日到3月14日是清華附中國際部首個數學科學周，主要由數學教研組、生命科學教研組及世界語言教研組的老師們策劃實施。這一周的活動主要圍繞著數學與科學進行，活動由學術探究，趣味實驗、成果展示、視頻制作、游戲、學術活動等多個部分組成，其目的是讓學生體驗數學與科學的魅力，培養學生對于科學與數學的興趣，激發學生們的動手創作能力。

From March 11 to March 14 is the Math, Science and Modern World Languages departments sponsored the first ever Math and Science Week. This year, through research, experiments, video production, games, competitions, etc. students creatively experienced the charm of mathematics and science.

整個數學科學周與學生們的日常學習生活無縫對接，緊湊而又充實，學生們在走廊里精心準備了各種與科學家或科學現象有關的展板，利用課間時間向同學們做介紹；在科學課上進行多種多樣的實驗；拍攝創意十足的影片并在周五一起放映；還有π數學學術活動（3月14圓周率日舉行）等等各種形式的比賽等等。在參與與展示中，激發了學生們對科學與數學的無限興趣。

The whole Math and Science week is closely connected with the students' daily study and life. Week activities include the Pi competition, the games on the quad, the videos made by students in Robert and Stacy's classes andthe informative displays related to a multicultural range of scientiststhat are all in the hallways. Through participation and presentation, students' infinite interest in math and science was stimulated.

小學部的孩子們在中學部哥哥姐姐的幫助下進行“尋找DNA”、制造過山車、破解密碼等等豐富多彩的實驗。在清華附中國際部，從小學一年級開始就已經設置了科學與數學課程。除了科學知識原理，科學課程帶給孩子更重要的其實是“科學思維”和“科學態度”。

The children in the primary school participated in various experiments such as "Looking for DNA ", making energy roller coasters and secret codes. At THIS, science and mathematics courses are offered since the first to twelfth grade. In addition to scientific knowledge and principles, what science courses bring to children is "scientific thinking" and "scientific attitude".

這一周對所有同學來說是創意十足、內容豐富、充滿啟發性的一周！清華附中國際部一直秉承開放式教學的傳統。在科學知識學習上，不只是老師系統講解，同時也是師生共同參與的互動式討論式學習。每個學生都可根據自己的認知對科學理論提出自己的觀點。老師鼓勵同學們進行多種嘗試，在科學實驗中發現科學樂趣，培養科學探索精神。

This Math and Science week is truly an informative, creative and inspiring week for all students. THIS always adheres to the tradition of an ‘open teaching’ concept. Teaching is both a systematic explanation by teachers and also an interactive discussion between teachers and students. Teachers encourage students to try a variety of scientific experiments to find fun in science and cultivate the spirit of scientific exploration.
