福州中加學(xué)校10名學(xué)子參加2019年多倫多大學(xué)三周的大學(xué)預(yù)備課程完滿收官。整個課程內(nèi)容豐富,活動有趣,組織完善,學(xué)生們收獲頗多。
During the past three weeks, 10 students have participated in the the summer school of University of Toronto ‘ Global Citizenship program for Pre-University’ , which has achieved great success . The program is rich in content and everything has been organized so well that students all get involved and motivated. They have learned more about our society and also learned how to think creatively.
每天六個小時英文課,讓學(xué)生們的思想從對所探討的問題充滿困惑到有了自己深刻的理解。他們每天下課后,在自習(xí)室,小組合作,想方案,寫文件,準(zhǔn)備第二天向教授和同學(xué)們陳述各自小組的觀點(diǎn)和方案,經(jīng)常熬夜寫到凌晨三四點(diǎn)。小組討論,一起寫方案,做演講,穿正裝參加圓桌會議,這些都讓學(xué)生們對世界有了新的認(rèn)知,如何才能成為一名更好的世界公民。
Six hours of English communication class and workshop everyday helps students to understand the world and our society more clearly. They spent hours and hours working together after class with their group members. They discussed serious topics of the society, wrote project together, did presentation together, and participated in Round Tables together.
這里的學(xué)習(xí)節(jié)奏與他們在國內(nèi)的學(xué)習(xí)節(jié)奏完全不同,而這樣的學(xué)習(xí)模式和節(jié)奏正是國外大學(xué)的學(xué)習(xí)模式和節(jié)奏。這樣的鍛煉對有志于出國留學(xué)的學(xué)生來說是非常重要的體驗(yàn),讓他們提前了解和感受到了真真切切的國外大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)的節(jié)奏和模式,讓他們對未來有了更充分的心理準(zhǔn)備,也讓他們明白了自己在接下來回到國內(nèi)的學(xué)習(xí)需要如何培養(yǎng)和提高自己的能力,以適應(yīng)將來在國外留學(xué)的日子。
This studying mode is new to them but they start to understand the study system of universities. It is very useful for them to experience the differences of foreign universities and help them get prepared for the future study.

這次我和我的小伙伴們一起來到我向往已久的大學(xué)——多倫多大學(xué)。在參加夏校的這段時間里,我真切感受到這所世界一流的大學(xué)對學(xué)生嚴(yán)格要求和高期望。我真正融入進(jìn)了多元文化的環(huán)境,和很多外國友人做朋友,并且學(xué)會了如何站在世界的角度看待問題。與此同時,我的英語也更進(jìn)了一步。

This time, my friends and I came to the university I have been longing for -- University of Toronto. In the summer program, I really feel that this excellent university has strict requirements and high expectations for students. In addition,I really integrated into the multicultural environment, made friends with many foreigners, and learned how to analyze problem from the global perspective and give feasible solutions.It' really a legendary experience.

這次參加夏校是一次很難忘的一段經(jīng)歷,認(rèn)識了很多來自不同國家的同學(xué),比如意大利,墨西哥,巴勒斯坦,印度,埃及,日本,韓國等其他國家的,我們在一起討論了很多全球?qū)砜赡軙媾R的問題,就比如本次夏校的主題為住房安全。對于加拿大政府來說,住房問題是他們首先要解決的問題,在外出游玩的時候,我們經(jīng)常會見到許多露宿街頭的加拿大人,他們沒有穩(wěn)定的工作,穩(wěn)定的住所,也沒有穩(wěn)定的經(jīng)濟(jì)來源,只能通過街頭表演,擦車窗的方式來維持生計(jì)。在我看來,全球公民項(xiàng)目的主要目的正是拓寬視野,消除刻板印象和偏見,培養(yǎng)一個人的創(chuàng)造力,領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力和組織能力,拓寬思維為將來的大學(xué)生活做鋪墊。我們一起經(jīng)歷了很多,一起熬夜寫作業(yè)到凌晨三四點(diǎn),從剛開始陌生,不敢講話,到后面能夠與大家打成一片,像老朋友一樣,實(shí)屬不易,這段經(jīng)歷是我們永遠(yuǎn)的記憶,永遠(yuǎn)不會忘卻。

It was an unforgettable experience to attend the summer school. We met many students from different countries, such as Italy, Mexico, Palestine, India, Egypt, Japan, Korea and other countries. We discussed many problems that the world may face in the future, such as one of the theme of this summer school ‘?housing safety’. For the Canadian government, the housing problem is their first problem to solve. When we go out to play, we often see many Canadians living on the street. They have no stable jobs, stable housing, and stable financial resources. They can only be maintained livelihood by street performances and car windows cleaning. In my opinion, the main purpose of the Global Citizenship Program is to broaden our horizons, eliminate stereotypes and prejudices, cultivate one's creativity, leadership and organizational ability, and broaden one's thinking to pave the way for future college life. We have experienced a lot together, staying up late to do homework until 3 or 4 a.m., from strangers at the beginning, not daring to speak, to be able to integrate with them like old friends, which is not easy. This experience will be our eternal memory, which I will never forget.

這次夏校,我了解到了很多以前沒有關(guān)注到的社會問題,比如,街上無家可歸的人們的社會保障問題,住房安全問題等等,讓我對社會,對自己都有了更深刻的認(rèn)知。我們還去了很多美麗的地方,比如尼亞加拉瀑布,零距離與大瀑布接觸,給我?guī)砭薮蟮恼鸷场N业挠⒄Z水平也提高了很多。在這短暫的三周時光里,我和同學(xué)們結(jié)下了深厚的友誼,我將會想念這里的人們和美景。

During?the?summer school, I have?learned a lot about social issues, like homelessness, housing insecurity. Also we took lots of adventures, we went to the Niagara waterfall, wonderland, where I?got unforgettable memories. I?also improve my English ability and get international concept. ?I will miss the classmates and wonderful scenery?here.

三周的時間很快就過去了,回想起第一周的擔(dān)憂到現(xiàn)在的不舍,我收獲了很多。輕松的課堂氛圍讓我慢慢的敢于和同學(xué)交流,提出自己的想法,我的溝通能力和英語水平有了很大的提高。很開心遇到了這么多友好的同學(xué)和老師,一直在鼓勵我,幫助我進(jìn)步。

During this summer program in University of?Toronto, I had a blast and learned a lot.My social skill ,English level and international understanding has?improved?a lot, and I really enjoy the atmosphere in class and I also like all the?activities?after class. I‘m happy that I have met these kinds?and thoughtful classmates who always encourage me to share my idea and help me?to?make progress.

這是我第一次在國外參加這種夏校課程,每天的日程都排的很滿,很充實(shí)。一天有固定六個小時的課時,加上其他的安排,一天里幾乎沒有多少空余時間,經(jīng)常熬夜趕作業(yè)。這次的項(xiàng)目讓我確確實(shí)實(shí)的讓我體會到了大學(xué)課業(yè)的繁重和自律的重要性。
G11-2Emily:
This is my first time to participate such a program in foreign country. Every day’s schedule had been fully occupied. There are six hours compulsory courses per day, plus other arrangements, we do not have enough free time to work on our homework so we often stay up late to work. This program makes?me realize the importance to be self-discipline and the difficulties of studying in university.

這次的旅程我收獲了很多,不僅學(xué)到了知識也交到了來自全世界各地的朋友。通過這次的學(xué)習(xí)旅程,我知道了其實(shí)世界上還是有很多人需要我們的幫助,需要來自全社會的幫助,比如那些無家可歸人們,他們也是我們20天來的研究對象。希望以后還有機(jī)會參加這樣的項(xiàng)目。

I have gained a lot from this journey, not only learning knowledge but also making friends from all over the world. Through this trip, I know that there are still a lot of people in the world who need help from us and help from the whole society, such as those homeless people and they are the subjects of our research for these 20 days. I hope there will be a chance to participate in such a project again in the future.

這次夏校之旅令我印象深刻,剛到這里的第一天開始學(xué)習(xí)時感覺時間過的很慢但是到后來同學(xué)慢慢的互相熟悉到后來逐漸可以用英文上課英文溝通,時間一下過的飛快,一眨眼就到了最后一天。這次夏校讓我初步感受到了以后國外的生活,從大家都不認(rèn)識到后來成為很好的朋友其實(shí)可以很快,而且我明白了團(tuán)隊(duì)活動是提升大家熟悉度最好的方式,大家慢慢的融入到最后成為朋友,這真的是很開心是一段時間。

I was impressed by the trip of?the summer school. I felt that the time was very slow when I first started studying here. But later, my classmates gradually became familiar with each other and?I was able to communicate with them in English fluently soon. Time is flying. The program made me realize the importance of team work?and I understand that team activities are the best way?to improve your familiarity.

這次在夏校,我感受到了來自各個國家好友的熱情,與他們一起學(xué)習(xí),一起玩耍,成為摯友。在課堂上,我們學(xué)習(xí)與了解了UDHR(也就是人權(quán))方面的現(xiàn)狀,讓我對這個世界認(rèn)知更深并且想成為一名優(yōu)秀的全球公民,為這個美好的世界作出貢獻(xiàn)。特別是通過這次夏校,更讓我了解到學(xué)語言的重要性,同時我也了解了多倫多大學(xué)的申請要求,讓我更有動力去努力奮斗。

Through the summer program, I feel the enthusiasm of friends from different countries and make friends with them. In the classroom, we learned UDHR (human rights), which gives?me a deeper understanding of the world and want to become an excellent global citizen, making effort to contribute to this beautiful world. In addition, summer school, I have realized?the importance of English language learning and?I also know?the application?requirement?for?the University of Toronto, which gives?me more motivation and encourage me to study harder in the future.

在多倫多大學(xué)的這三周里,我們學(xué)到了很多,了解了大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)的模式和體系。上課時大家的辯論很激烈,課后完成任務(wù)和作業(yè)的態(tài)度也很認(rèn)真,同時也交到了很多外國的朋友,大家其樂融融的度過的這三周,讓我難以忘懷。

During the three weeks at the University of Toronto, we have learned a lot and understood the mode and system of university study?in Canada. The debate in class was very fierce, and the attitude of finishing the task and homework after class was also very serious. 10位學(xué)生都圓滿完成課程學(xué)習(xí),獲得了多倫多大學(xué)課程證書。

緊張而充實(shí)的課堂學(xué)習(xí)之類,學(xué)生們還參觀和體驗(yàn)了很多加拿大的人文與地理文化,比如現(xiàn)場觀看多倫多藍(lán)鳥隊(duì)棒球比賽,參加麥克馬斯特大學(xué)的高空繩索項(xiàng)目,參加室內(nèi)攀巖活動, 游玩加拿大奇幻樂園, 體驗(yàn)郵輪之夜,參觀鄉(xiāng)村農(nóng)舍感受加拿大的鄉(xiāng)間生活等等。
University of Toronto also organized many activities after class for students to experience the culture of Canada, such as watching Blue Jays baseball game, trying Altitude High Ropes course and rocking climbing, visiting the Canada’s Wonderland, having party in the boat cruise, and experiencing the life in Blackcreek pioneer village.
