This week we celebrateFounders’ Week in honor of the day we first opened our doors on September 17, 1912.

這周，我們舉行“創始人紀念周”活動來慶祝1912年9月17日上海美國學校的創立。

Life at SAS during the Consulate Years (1980-89) wasn’t nearly as active as it is today. Because the school was located on the grounds of the U.S. Consulate at the time, and consulates aren’t exactly known for their sports facilities. As SAS re-founder Linnea Lauer joked, “Students loved coming to school in those years. After all, there was nothing else to do.”

在“領事館時期”（1980年至1989年），上海美國學校的校園生活并不像現在這樣豐富多彩。這是因為，當時上海美國學校在美國領事館開展教學，而領事館并沒有多少運動設施。上海美國學校復校創始人Linnea Lauer曾笑稱：“當時，學生們喜歡來上學。畢竟，那時也沒有其他事情可做。”

Once a year, however, that changed. Each year, SAS would hold Sports Day – a day when students would depart campus for sports fields around Shanghai, and spend the day running around playing all kinds of sports – some organized, some made up by the students as they went along. To help keep track of the students, each was issued an official SAS Sports Day t-shirt. To commemorate Founders Week 2019, the Eagle Shops have brought back the Consulate T-shirt – available in red or blue. Feel free to wear it, even when you’re not playing sports.

不過，這種情形每年都會改變一次。上海美國學校每年都會舉行一次“運動日”活動——這一天，學生們將走出校園，前往上海周邊的運動場，參加各種體育運動——一些運動項目是有組織的，另一些運動項目是學生自發進行的。為了更好地對學生進行管理，每位學生都會領到一件上海美國學校“運動日”官方T恤。為了紀念2019年創始人紀念周，上海美國學校“雄鷹商店”重新上架了“領事館T恤”——提供了紅色和藍色兩種顏色。大家可以隨便穿，即便是沒有參加體育運動也可以穿著。
